Manuscript Preparation

Jurnal Teknik requires all authors to prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the journal's official manuscript template, scientific writing standards, and publication ethics policies. Manuscripts must present original research findings, demonstrate scientific or technological contributions, and be written clearly, systematically, and accurately.

All manuscripts must comply with the formatting and structural requirements established by Jurnal Teknik. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors for revision before proceeding to the editorial evaluation and peer-review process.

1. General Manuscript Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Teknik must comply with the following requirements:

  1. Originality: Manuscripts must present original research findings that have not been previously published and are not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.

  2. Manuscript Length: Manuscripts must consist of 6–10 pages, including the title, abstracts, main text, tables, figures, and references.

  3. File Format: Manuscripts must be prepared as editable Microsoft Word documents using the official journal template.

  4. Language: Manuscripts must use clear, accurate, and consistent academic language. The official template specifies an Indonesian-language title and requires abstracts in both Indonesian and English. Authors must follow the journal's applicable requirements concerning the language of the main text.

  5. Font and Formatting: The main text must use Arial, 11 pt. The title, author information, affiliations, abstracts, tables, and figures must follow the formatting specifications provided in the official template.

The English abstract must contain 100–200 words, be written in a single paragraph, and use Arial, 10 pt, with single-line spacing.

Both abstracts must consistently communicate the research problem, objectives, methods, principal results, and conclusions.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the grammatical accuracy, clarity, and scientific consistency of the English abstract.

3.3. Keywords

Authors must provide a maximum of five keywords representing the principal concepts, research methods, technologies, or scientific subjects addressed in the manuscript.

Keywords must be specific, relevant, and appropriate for scientific indexing and information retrieval.

  • 10% of the manuscript body for qualitative research.

  • 15% of the manuscript body for quantitative research.

4.3. Results and Discussion

The Results and Discussion section must constitute the principal part of the manuscript and account for at least 60% of the article body.

Research findings must be presented first, followed by their scientific interpretation and discussion. The Results and Discussion components must be clearly distinguished using separate subheadings.

The Discussion must extend beyond simply describing or repeating the results. It should demonstrate analytical reasoning and explain how the findings contribute to scientific knowledge, technological innovation, or engineering applications.

Relevant scientific references must be used to support interpretations and comparisons with existing research.

4.4. Conclusion

The Conclusion must provide a concise synthesis of the principal research findings and explain how the study has achieved its objectives or answered its research questions.

The Conclusion must emphasize the scientific significance and contributions of the research rather than merely repeating results presented in previous sections.

This section should:

  1. Summarize the principal scientific findings.

  2. Explain how the findings address the research objectives.

  3. Highlight the scientific, technological, or practical contributions of the study.

  4. Identify relevant implications of the research.

  5. Provide recommendations or potential directions for future research, where appropriate.

Figures and graphical representations must accurately reflect the underlying research data.

Any manipulation that alters or misrepresents scientific findings is strictly prohibited.

6. Equations, Symbols, and Measurement Units

Mathematical equations, engineering formulas, algorithms, and technical notation must be presented clearly, accurately, and consistently throughout the manuscript.

Authors should use appropriate equation-editing tools to ensure that mathematical expressions are readable and editable.

All variables, mathematical symbols, constants, and parameters must be clearly defined when first introduced.

Measurement units should follow internationally recognized scientific conventions, particularly the International System of Units (SI), where applicable.

Equations and technical expressions should be included when necessary to explain research methods, calculations, analyses, or findings.

Authors must ensure consistent use of numerical notation, symbols, abbreviations, and measurement units.
